The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has issued a one-time cash assistance memorandum for affected workers. The assistance is worth 5,000 in aid to private workers currently affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine.
Crisis
Since enacting the Enhanced Community Quarantine has stopped the employment of thousands of workers. Because of this, people face hunger and dread of the bills. It is particularly affected by the no work no pay working in the private sector.CAMP Financial Assistance
Large companies have already announced that they will give their employees one month's pay. But what about the employees of small and medium enterprises? Not all of them are able to provide assistance to their employees. As a result, DOLE issued a memorandum stating that such a government agency would provide cash assistance to small business workers. DOLE has launched the COVID-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) for crisis-affected workers in our country.
CAMP aims to provide one-time financial assistance worth Php5,000 for those affected by the temporary closure of their employers. March 21 began implementation nationwide.
Avail process
On the contrary, many people do not know that employees should look to them for help. Employers or owners of small to medium enterprises are assigned by DOLE to apply for CAMP financial assistance for their workers.
The employer must download the Establishment Report Form which can be found on the official DOLE website. Fill out the form and attach a copy of the employees' payroll during the month of February or last month.
The documents will be sent to the DOLE Regional Office e-mail located at their business location.
DOLE takes three days to review applications. Employers who are approved will receive a “Notice of Approval”.
Next, a bank transfer will send CAMP Financial Assistance to employees' payroll accounts. For payroll bank accounts, money will be sent through money remittance.
After all employees receive the assistance, it is the employer's responsibility to send a Notice of Completion to DOLE.
In the event of a failure to qualify, the document is defective or "tampered" with the requirements, DOLE will send a "Notice of Denial" to employers.
Help
Today, cAMP has been a great help for Filipino workers. So employers need to know the correct process. While Php5,000 is not enough for others, it will somehow alleviate the hunger of most.
